Plants

Plants are very important for various reasons. First of all, plants are a living life-force that help to generate fresh air and positive energy. It does take some care to keep them lush but it's worth it because of the beauty, energy and the encouragement they provide to connect you with nature every day. I have a lot of plants and some days it feels like it's a full time job maintaining them, but the truth is, when I'm really busy I need an anchor back into nature and a connection to myself. When I'm spraying and watering my plants I use that time to remind myself of my own energy and what I'm doing or need to do to feed myself. Hey, any reminder is a good one as far as I'm concerned. Just remember you have to care for your plants.

Studies have shown plants do better when you talk to them and include them in your life. Sometimes I leave on healing music when I go out. Plants loved to be sprayed every day but every other day is fine. And in general, water them twice a week, but take a moment to notice whether the soil is dry or moist. This way, the ones that need more water will get the attention they need. Sometimes they like to be cut back a bit. I will cut back one or two of the longest vines and replant them into that same plant. It makes it fuller. Be careful not to tear through the roots. Gently push your finger into the soil, put the vine down about an inch and fill in hole with soil.

Also, if a plant begins to fail, try moving it. I have an aloe plant I moved onto my terrace, which gave it more sunlight, but it began to wilt and look sick. I moved it back inside with less sun and it's back to being perky. So just pay attention. Plus, any good plant shop will have people there to guide you.
