Detoxification

Detoxification

Detoxing can be physical or emotional and usually they are interrelated.
A great healer I know from L.A., Laura Bushnell, told me about a great exercise to get rid of unwanted emotions. With a rubber tube or maybe a wooden spoon, take a pillow and start banging away and repeating some sort of mantra like "I'm over you" or "I am a good person" or just scream and cry. This form of release will actually bring toxins to the surface of your skin cells, so it's a great idea to take a shower after and give yourself a body scrub to slough away the excess debris.

Ridding your self of environmental toxins is extremely important. We are surrounded by toxic pollutants, so it's good to have a physical detox with the change of each season. I like a program by InAgenix or a simple juice fast but there are many choices at your local health food store or just talk to a nutritionist. The toxins that build up in your body can cause illness and another way to rid yourself of them is to massage your neurolymphatics. This system does not have its own "pump" so we have to get it going. Cardiovascular activities help do this and so does massaging the neurolyphatic points. It's really easy to lie in bed, watch TV and massage yourself. Sounds cheeky, I know, but it's extremely effective. These foreign pollutants whether they be physical or emotional cause our body great distress. We have what is called a Triple Warmer energy system inside ourselves (also known as the flight or fight response) and it protects us, which is good; but, it reacts to anything it considers foreign, which is about everything in our modern world, like pesticides. In other words, our genetics haven't caught up with societal evolution. Anyway, our Triple Warmer is almost always on alert and because it's associated with survival it has the power to pull energy from other systems in our body - any system except the heart. So that is why all these fatigue and attention disorders are all over the place; our bodies can't handle all the toxins and it's overloaded trying to fight an enemy that doesn't really exist. There are many ways to correct this, but just emotionally detoxing in the ways described above should keep the situation under control. Just keep things moving and remember that the spleen is responsible for processing physical and emotional things, so strengthen it whenever you can (see five minutes to healthy energy).
