Releasing what doesn't serve you

Most of us hold on to things - to old pain and anger, resentment, jealousy, humiliation, etc., and these things take up space within us. There is only so much energy our physical bodies can hold, so if you fill it up with negative issues you're taking up space that could be replaced with something positive like love and happiness. Check out expelling venom and cleansing negativity, and writing and/or saying affirmations can also help. Intentionality is everything so start with the intention that you are ready to let go and move on. Just state that intention to yourself or to the world, to put you on the right path. It can be very scary, you think, "I have no idea how to do this", but just intend to and it will be. Know that you are the one who benefits from forgiveness and the benefits are staggering.

When we keep things pent up, conscious or not, it will come out. Do you find yourself crying at nothing or at something that has nothing to do with the real issue? These are very common things to happen when we haven't fully released something. Our emotional self/body instinctually knows the release of this excess/old energy is good, so it will find any opportunity to get out. The point is, we are all walking around with extra emotional baggage and it simply is not good for us. It inhibits the better part of who we are from shining through and it gets in the way of positive opportunities coming to you. The most important thing I can tell you is that you do not have to identify a specific experience.

You may be reading this and saying, "No, I have nothing I'm holding on to", but if that were true you'd be a saint. In the thousands of colorcard sessions I've done with people, I've never met anyone who doesn't need to let go of something. I've met a lot of people who strongly protest that they are free from baggage and I think I agreed with maybe three out of a thousand. It's not a big deal or bad thing, it's just a part of our human condition, so whether you think you have or don't have it, it can't hurt to "intend" to let go of whatever doesn't serve you. Say this to yourself as many times as you can over a few weeks and just be aware if any emotions come up or unexplained actions manifest. Just observe and continue to affirm that you are letting go; just making this affirmation will start and, possibly, complete the process. Also check out cleansing the heart chakra.
