Overcoming negative habit patterns This can be related to fear because when we begin to create real change in ourselves there is something Eckhart Tolle calls our "pain body" that doesn't want to "die" and doesn't want to let go, so it conjures up stress, fear, etc. It will help make you believe that you really do need to hold onto this or that because... well the truth is, because nothing! We are capable of change in every way possible; we just have to understand we will meet with emotional, spiritual and possibly physical obstacles and most of the time that is our pain body not wanting to let go. This is really important to remember as we get older. Of course, if you are really motivated, change can happen anytime in your life but our patterns, good and bad, become ingrained in who we are, physically and energetically, and there does come a point when changing these patterns becomes almost impossible so start sooner rather than later. The big point here is not to give yourself a hard time if you falter. We all falter... many times. It's hard to break a negative habit, so just start again. It's no big deal because one day it will get easier and then later on you'll realize change has happened and it will feel so natural and you'll be happy. You can also try an energy medicine called expelling venom, the loving presence or effortless change visualizations or try an active meditation. Also see, The Promise of Energy Psychology.
